Traditional Wine Tasting

The traditional wine tasting is probably what you think of when you hear the phrase "wine tasting." This is a great way to get to know a particular winery's wines, or to explore the variety of wines produced in a specific region.

Blind Wine Tasting

A blind wine tasting is simply a traditional wine tasting where the identity of the wines being tasted are hidden from the participants. This can be done by using opaque bags or cups, or by having someone else pour the wines so that tasters don't know which one they're trying. The point of a blind tasting is to really focus on the wine itself, without being influenced by factors like price, reputation, or appearance.

Food and Wine Pairing

One of the best ways to enjoy wine is with food. A food and wine pairing can help bring out the best flavors in both the food and the wine. When choosing a food and wine pairing, it's important to keep in mind both complementary and contrasting flavors. For example, a rich red wine might go well with a hearty steak dinner, while a light white wine might be better suited for grilled fish or roasted chicken.

Vertical Wine Tasting

A vertical tasting is when you taste wines from the same winery or vineyard, but from different years. This is a great way to see how a particular winery's wines change over time, and how different weather conditions can affect the flavor of the grapes used to make the wines. Vertical tastings can also be done with foods, such as cheese or chocolate.

What we want to observe is the evolution of the wine over time. Also to see how it behaves during the different vintages, and how the different vintages were. If it is carried out by professionals, it is with the intention of detecting changes in the coupage of the wine, the time it has been aged on lees, the time it has been aged in barrels and of course the climatic differences between the different years.

It is recommended to start with the wine with the oldest vintage and continue to the newer vintages.
